Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy describes the privacy policy of the VPN MIR websites, applications and Services, which also applies to the VPN MIR product. However, the provision of Services related to VPN MIR (the “VPN MIR Services”) also involves the processing of additional personal data. For more information, please see below.

GENERAL NOTES

VPN MIR guarantees a strict no-logs policy for the VPN MIR Services, which means that your internet activity when using the VPN MIR Services is not monitored, recorded, logged, stored or shared with third parties. We do not store traffic logs, IP addresses or browsing data. From the moment a VPN MIR user connects to one of our VPN servers, their internet data is encrypted.

ADDITIONAL PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED WHEN PROVIDING “VPN MIR” SERVICES

In addition to the information provided in the Privacy Policy, we process the following data when you use the “VPN MIR” Services:

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Server load statistics. We monitor server performance (CPU, RAM, server network usage) to recommend the most suitable servers to our users.

Connection information. To prevent abuse and to be able to dispute unfair chargebacks, we record whether the user has used the “VPN MIR” Service in the last 30 days. In this case, no personal information is collected other than the fact that the “VPN MIR” Service was or was not used during the specified period.

Interaction data. To protect against abuse and detect prohibited activities such as scraping, we use advanced tools to detect unusual patterns in user activity when initiating new sessions. In this case, no personal information is collected, except for an indication that unusual patterns were or were not detected in the user's activity.

Information collected on the VPN MIR website (vpnmir.com)

Social media platforms and widgets. Our website may include social media features such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, "Like" and/or "Share" buttons to make it easier for you to share our content. These features may collect your IP address, the pages you visit, and set cookies to enable the feature to function properly.

Information collected in our applications

Information about application events. Our application collects anonymous information about the activity in your account. The processed data is specific to a specific device, which means that we cannot tell which specific user sent us the event information. We need the event information in the application: (i) to know whether the application is working properly (e.g. whether the user was able to register or sign in successfully, whether the user was able to connect to the server from their location); (ii) to know how users interact with our application (e.g. which user interface elements are used most or least, what notifications we show to users, etc.); and (iii) to identify issues related to the performance and updates of our application (e.g. error and crash reports). You can opt out of the collection of information in the application at any time by going to the settings of the VPN MIR application. An application event contains the following information:

General information about the event: which application sent the event, the time of the event, categorization and limited routing information.

Device information: device operating system and its architecture, device type, model, brand, unique device identifier, city, country and time zone of the device.

App information: application name, version and source, enabled/disabled features at the time of the event, network type, public internet service provider information, current VPN connection status and related information (protocol and technology used, current server, etc.), A/B testing information (if any), user preferences (e.g. enabled/disabled notifications, language, preferred connection settings).

Please note that the unique device identifier is randomly generated on the client side and cannot be associated with the email address or user ID of the client.

Device information. We may also collect some device information in our application. Such information is logged automatically and may include your device model, operating system version and similar non-identifying information. We may use this information to monitor, develop, and analyze the use of Free VPN services. In addition, to help users connect to the most convenient server when using the Quick Connect feature, our app detects the city of the device (this determination is done locally, this data is not logged in our systems).

Device identifiers. In some cases, we may record your device identifier for marketing or analytics purposes.

Identifiers are assigned to your device by the OS manufacturer and can be reset at any time in your device settings. For instructions, see the following device-specific policies: Advertising and privacy on iOS devices and Manage Google settings on Android devices.

Enabled features. Knowing which product features are enabled in your app helps us provide you with more relevant information. For example, this means that you will not receive in-app notifications about Free VPN features that are already enabled.
